Helen's Blizzard (updated 6/20/03)
Helen Roehl got our attention with this beautiful jacket embellished with designs from Jacobean Reflections. Here's what she wrote:
"This jacket is made out of stretch velvet, which feels much like velveteen but is machine washable. The designs on the front are 2jaco40. I just combined them in customizing for the D1 mega hoop. On the back the designs are 5jaco40 and sm40jb1. These were all combined in customizing also. Then mirrored. The vine around the center design is 2jaco40. It took a total of six hoopings to complete. (Could have done it in five, but I'm a control freak! ;-)) 2 hoopings in the 240 x 150 D1 hoop, 2 mega hoopings and 2 4x4 hoopings. I used 40 wt. thread with a size 80 needle. To stabilize the jacket I used sticky stabilizer in the hoop and tear away under the hoop, and solvy on top. I basted it all together."
Fantastic results!!
Helen also sent us pictures of a jacket she made using designs from Fantasy Garden II. Helen's a great hooper as well as a great stitcher!
